Hosting tournaments in 2009-10 Club Directors, There are some open dates still available for the folkstyle season. If you are interested in holding a tournament, everything must be paid, submitted and approved by October 15, 2009. That is only 10 days away.
The open dates by region are:
11/7/2009- Region II and Region III 11/14/2009- Region II 11/21/2009- Region I and Region III 12/5/2009- Region I and Region II 12/12/2009- Region II 12/19/2009- Region II and Region III 1/2/2010- Region II and Region III 1/9/2010- Region I and Region II and Region III 1/16/2010 Region II and Region III If your club is in the regions above and you want to hold a tournament, please email me at KDburchett@aol.com Before you submit your sanction, please: 1. Do your background or make sure your background is current. Most members did their original background checks in 2007 (good for two years) so those members are required to get one done again this year. To complete the screening process, you need to log into your account. If you do not remember your password, please email me and I will send it to you. Please do not just create a new account.

Once logged in, click
on the profile link on the top right of screen. 3. All Washington State Wrestling Association Clubs can renew their charters and apply for event sanctions online. Remember the person who is logged in will be listed on the club charter and event sanction. 4. During the process of completing your club charter you will be given the option to purchase insurance for your club. Make sure you add this option otherwise your club has no insurance. 5. Once you have submitted all of this to charter your club, please remember that to sanction an event you are required to tell me who your mat and pairing official will be. At this time they must also do their background checks and purchase their officials cards. While they are doing this you may log in and sanction your club. Remember to purchase insurance at this time (there is not an additional charge for the insurance on the sanction) for your tournament. I can’t add it once you have processed your sanction. 6. Try to use wording in the title of your tournament so the wrestling community knows what style of tournament it is. I will check them all and adjust them if need be. If you do all of these steps, you will only hear back from me that your charter and sanction is approved. If you forgot something I will email you with what is missing. Dave Gilbertson wants to put everything on the WSWA web site and attach flyers, etc. Remember, everything must be paid, submitted and approved by October 15, 2009. Thank you,
